Call to Action # 27: Justice (25-42)

Call for Reconciliation Roster Members

October 11, 2023

NationTalk: The Law Society of Alberta remains committed to responding to the Truth and Reconciliation Commission’s Calls to Action in a thoughtful and collaborative way that builds and strengthens relationships with Indigenous peoples and communities. Hearing a wide array of Indigenous perspectives is crucial for advancing this work, which is why the Law Society is expanding its ongoing consultation with Indigenous people in Alberta to include as many voices as possible with a Reconciliation Roster.

The Reconciliation Roster will provide guidance, feedback, and resources suggestions on program initiatives, legal issues, and educational programs to assist the Indigenous Initiatives Counsel’s work for the Law Society.

Indigenous Initiatives Counsel is currently seeking Indigenous volunteers for the Reconciliation Roster, from both legal and non-legal backgrounds. Members of the roster can serve as long as they are able to. Opportunities to advise on each issue will be provided based on experience, availability, and interest.

If you are interested in becoming a member of the roster, please fill out the survey and our Indigenous Initiatives Counsel will be in contact.
